Jessica Roubitchek, Owner
Jessica opened Purple Monkey Playroom in 2012, when her daughter was a toddler.
She earned her BA in marketing from the University of Illinois and later completed her MBA at the University of Chicago. Prior to opening Purple Monkey, she was a fundraiser for several Chicago-area nonprofits, including the University of Chicago, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and Girl Scouts.
In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the business, Jessica is the lead party planner for Purple Monkey and loves working with clients to create unique, stress-free celebrations.
She lives in Bucktown with her husband, 7-year-old daughter, and two rescued Pit Mixes.
Lea Martinez, Senior Manager
Lea joined the Purple Monkey playroom family in July 2013, less than 6 months after opening day. Lea manages staffing for the team and can be found greeting families several afternoons a week. Lea also expertly manages the process of finalizing last-minute preparations for birthday parties and ensures every family is ready and excited for their celebrations. Lea has personally hosted several hundred events as a party assistant for the playroom. When she's not in the playroom she is also a trusted pet caregiver.
Lea is mom to a Kindergartener and lives in the Kelvyn Park neighborhood with her son, partner, and cat. Prior to working at Purple Monkey she had a long career in the IT world. The playroom's multiple printers are grateful for her skills.
