Playroom Rules

Parents and caregivers must stay on-site and are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Purple Monkey Playroom is a shoe-free facility. Socks are required and are available for purchase. Strollers must be folded indoors or chained to the outdoor bike rack. Purple Monkey can provide locks. Purple Monkey supports and encourages nursing mamas to freely breastfeed in the playroom.

Food & Drink

Purple Monkey allows food on-site. Please ensure all food items are allergen-free for the safety of all kids. Drinks in closed containers are welcome. Filtered water and coffee are available free of charge. Purple Monkey Playroom is not responsible for any food contamination that may lead to allergic reactions.

General Safety

Our front door is locked during playtime. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who arrives without a child. Strollers must be folded immediately upon entry to the playroom to discourage climbing and to keep the entryway clear. Roughhousing is strictly prohibited. We do not welcome concealed carry. Smoking (of all kinds) and alcohol are not allowed.

Cleanliness

Your and your child(ren)'s health is a top priority at Purple Monkey. We clean after hours to care for the interior of the space.

We avoid spraying cleaners to the extent possible when children are present. Chewed or licked toys can be taken off the play floor by placing them in the “slobbery” bins available for that purpose. 

Despite enhanced efforts, disease transmission is inherent to public settings. Purple Monkey does not make any warranties regarding your or your child’s health after visiting the playroom. We encourage you to supervise your children closely to cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, implement frequent handwashing, and use hand sanitizer which is available in the playroom. Children should remain home if they have a fever. The safety of children requires a collaborative effort between parents, caregivers and Purple Monkey.

code of conduct

While Purple Monkey strives to be a an environment of “yes” for your child, please help us to keep everyone safe by discouraging children from playing on furniture and behind the tiki hut. Diapers must be changed in the bathroom on the changing table provided.

We do not tolerate threatening behavior against our staff or other patrons for any reason. Clients who use confrontational or abusive language will be asked to leave.
